Is Memberply a suitable Bold Memberships alternative?

How member count changes the comparison

The following examples interpret Bold’s first 10 members as exempt, then apply $0.13 to each remaining member after the introductory period. Confirm which members count for billing and how changes within a billing cycle are handled. These are illustrations, not quotes or actual merchant invoices.

Under this assumption, Bold’s app charge is lower at 100 members and Memberply’s is lower at 500. That does not establish which program is more profitable: include any companion apps, implementation time and the benefits you fund. Model those benefits with the membership pricing calculator.

Check catalog pricing separately from checkout discounts

A fictional consumer membership club might want members to see lower product prices while non-members see the standard prices, with exclusions for low-margin products. Write down whether the member must see a different price on every product page, receive a checkout discount, or both. Test each requirement with the theme and catalog you actually use.

Memberply’s member discount can apply a percentage or fixed amount at checkout for eligible signed-in members, with minimum requirements and product or collection exclusions. Switching from Bold Memberships to Memberply

Start by contacting Memberply with the membership tiers, billing arrangement and integrations you need to preserve. Agree on a migration plan before changing the live store.

1. Map the existing program. Record tier prices, member status, trial periods, paid-through dates, customer tags and any connected pricing rules. Identify where recurring payments are actually collected.
2. Prepare member records. Memberply accepts CSV imports of up to 500 records per file. Confirm export fields and match members to the correct Shopify customer and destination tier.
3. Plan payments separately. Importing member records does not transfer payment mandates or cancel previous billing. Completing payment setup may charge immediately. Coordinate new payment setup and old billing to prevent overlapping charges.
4. Check access deadlines and rewards. Import does not copy the previous provider’s payment schedule. Confirm due dates and prepaid access before inviting members to pay. Reconcile credit and points without issuing duplicate rewards.
5. Test the full journey. Use Shopify new customer accounts to check sign-in, discounts, protected content, POS, renewals and cancellation. Verify companion-app behavior, then communicate any required member action before retiring the old setup.
